I have been a folk musician for more than thirty years, playing guitar, ukulele, fiddle, melodeon, keyboard and mandolin,
and am currently part of a folk dance group doing many gigs in the local area.
I am completely self-taught, and have always had a love of music which has encouraged me to learn new musical skills.
In my previous career as a secondary school teacher of French, I tried to bring my love of music to my lessons, and usually
managed to have a few musical lessons each day. I could often be seen with a guitar in my arms, roaming the corridors at break time to bring a little joy to the masses.
It doesn’t matter what stage you're at, beginner, intermediate or advanced, you can be assured of learning new techniques and
skills in all aspects of guitar playing.
Every lesson I would hope that you would leave having learnt something new, whether a new song, a new method or skill, or
something else!
I offer tuition for:
- Acoustic finger style guitar
- Ukulele (very suitable for children with small hands)
- Melodeon
- Keyboard for beginners
- Folk style fiddle & violin
My fees are: £20 per 1 hour lesson.
I am available for lessons in the Derby / Nottingham area.
I can travel to you if you are unable to come to me, but there will be an additional charge for this, depending on the journey time.
